About Kai

Kai Chan has exhibited across Canada, the United States, Japan, Australia and Europe. He has designed many exhibitions for the Gardiner Museum in Toronto and other institutions. He has received numerous grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Ontario Arts Council, including the Jean A. Chalmers National Crafts Award [1998], and the Saidye Bronfman Award for Excellence in the Fine Crafts [2002]. His work is in the collection of Museum London, London, Ontario; Mendel Art Gallery, Saskatoon, SK; the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston Texas; Musée des Arts Decoratifs de Montréal; the Canadian Museum of Civilization, Gatineau, Québec; the Library and Gallery, Cambridge, Ontario; the Canada Council Art Bank, Ottawa, Ontario; and Nordenfjeldske Kunstindustrimusem, Norway.
