Kai, Textiles and Everyday Life

I believe every passing moment has the capacity to inform the next movement of my life. At the same time, it could also recall incidents from the past that may not be just my own experiences. The potential power of this interaction has formed the conceptual structure of my work. In this project, I chose to work with the calligraphy of Wang Xizhi’s “Preface to the Orchid Pavilion Anthology” to interact with photographs of my home and my studio, and mingle them into the landscape of the four seasons, historical and personal, past and present.
